disaster preparedness is every citizen's responsibility

Learn About NEW Developments

Purpose of Citizen Corps: To harness the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds.

Implementation: The Citizen Corps goals are accomplished through a national network of state, local, and tribal Citizen Corps Councils. These Councils build on community strengths to implement the Citizen Corps programs and will carry out a local strategy to have every American participate.

ServeNebraska manages Citizen Corps in Nebraska through a collaborative partnership with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). We inspire community involvement, promote and develop Citizen Corps, and enhance community's disaster preparedness capacity. In doing so, ServeNebraska pursues the highest levels of inclusiveness, effectiveness and efficiency.
