disaster preparedness is every citizen's responsibility

PURPOSE: Citizen Corps harnesses the power of every individual to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds. Citizen Corps goals are accomplished through education, training, and volunteer service implemented  by a national network of state, local, and tribal Citizen Corps Councils. These Councils build on community strengths.

OUR ROLE: ServeNebraska coordinates Citizen Corps in Nebraska through a collaborative partnership with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)

OUR APPROACH: We inspire community involvement, promote and develop Citizen Corps, and enhance communities' disaster preparedness capacities. In doing so, ServeNebraska pursues the highest levels of inclusiveness, effectiveness and efficiency.
