2013 Global Youth Service Day – April 26 -28
ServeNebraska is proud to be a Global Youth Service Day Lead Agency and excited to support Nebraska organizations, schools, and other not-for-profit community groups in developing and implementing service learning projects engaging Nebraska youth in service to their communities.
The following youth-guided initiatives utilizing service learning address an identified community need. Each initiative engaged youth in a period between the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (January 21, 2013) and Global Youth Service Day (April 26-28, 2013.)
State Farm Grants of $1,500
Grants of up to $1,500 each for youth-led service learning projects focusing in the areas of Auto Safety, Home Safety, Financial Literacy and/or Education.
- Freeman Future Farmers of America (FFA)
- Southeast Nebraska Community Action (SENCA)
Youth Service Grants
Grants of up to $400 for youth-led service learning projects focusing efforts on a community need
- Blue Valley Community Action
- Creighton University Talent Search Program
- United Methodist Ministries
- YWCA Adams County
