AmeriCorps Programs in Nebraska

State & National Programs:

  • Conservation Nebraska AmeriCorps members facilitate educational events that inform Nebraskans on how to live more sustainable lives and keep our state beautiful.

  • RISE AmeriCorps members mentor youth who are in the Nebraska probation system due to truancy. The program helps these students develop skills to increase their attendance in school.

  • Members serve the community by assisting with GED test preparation, ESL tutoring, career services, and the ZONE after-school program.

  • Together, Inc. of Metropolitan Omaha will engage 12 AmeriCorps members to support its Choice Food Pantry, nutrition education, community gardens, outreach, and volunteer coordination. During the first program year, members will help 25,000 unduplicated individuals access nutritious food, contribute to distributing 4 million pounds of food, improve participants’ food security and access to healthy options, and engage 500 volunteers in pantry, garden, outreach, and service activities.

  • AmeriCorps members serving with ICRI mentor children who are new to the United States. They help refugee and immigrant families navigate their new home.

  • Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln partners with Community Learning Centers, and these AmeriCorps members help educate children and families on making healthier life choices.


AmeriCorps NCCC:

Organizations can partner with AmeriCorps NCCC to host teams that support community projects such as disaster response, housing, environmental stewardship, and community revitalization.


AmeriCorps Seniors:

  • AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers are aged 55 and up and serve in one of three types of programs; RSVP, Senior Companions, and Foster Grandparents.
