Nebraskans Volunteer!

Nebraskans are generous, caring people. Studies from AmeriCorps show that Nebraska ranks third nationally in volunteerism.

Nebraska has a wide range of public and nonprofit organizations that benefit from volunteer support. One of the easiest ways to get involved is to find an organization near you that supports a cause you care about and contact them to learn about available opportunities.

Volunteer Generation Fund

ServeNebraska has received $313,305 from the federal Volunteer Generation Fund to expand youth mentoring in 20 Nebraska counties. ServeNebraska is partnering with MENTOR Nebraska to manage the subgrant program, which will award funding to 20 mentoring programs to strengthen mentoring programs in 20 counties, with support provided to aid organizations in recruiting and retaining volunteer mentors.

The goal is to recruit 1,500 new mentors, keep 1,000 of the current volunteers and provide assistance to 2,500 young people.
