Expand Your Impact with AmeriCorps State & National

If you’re leading a nonprofit, school, or public agency in Nebraska, you already know the reality: demand keeps growing. Staffing and funding don’t always keep up.

That’s where AmeriCorps State & National funding makes a difference.

Through ServeNebraska, eligible organizations can host AmeriCorps members who expand capacity, strengthen programming, and deliver measurable results in communities across the state.

This isn’t temporary help.
It’s a structured service with clear outcomes.

Education & Youth Support

Strong communities start with strong students.

Recognizing Increased Skills in Education (RISE)

RISE AmeriCorps members mentor youth involved in Nebraska’s probation system due to truancy. Members help students build attendance habits, accountability, and life skills that keep them engaged in school and on track for graduation.

YWCA Adams County

Members support GED test preparation, ESL tutoring, career services, and the ZONE after-school program. These services strengthen literacy, workforce readiness, and long-term economic mobility in the Hastings community.

International Council for Refugees and Immigrants

AmeriCorps members mentor children who are new to the United States and support refugee and immigrant families as they navigate education systems and community resources. The result: smoother transitions and stronger family stability.

Health & Wellness

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln

In partnership with Community Learning Centers, AmeriCorps members educate children and families on healthy lifestyle choices, nutrition, and physical activity. This work strengthens preventative health outcomes and supports youth development in Title I schools.

Conservation & Environmental Stewardship

Conservation Nebraska

AmeriCorps members facilitate educational events that help Nebraskans adopt more sustainable practices and protect the state’s natural resources. From community engagement to environmental awareness, members support long-term conservation goals.
